Caterering
Now here’s my two cents on caterers. For some reason, caterers like to treat the photographers like they are second class citizens. They wait until after feeding everyone else in the dining room, to give us whatever is left over. Honestly it isn’t what we eat that matters, but when we eat that matters. And a good caterer knows this! Prepares for this ahead of time, by leaving food out for vendors in a separate room, or plans for feeding photographers when the couple eats. It’s not that we are trying to eat before everyone else, but that we can best do OUR job, by eating when the couple eats, so that we can be up and following the couple as soon as they are done. Often times an ill prepared caterers will leave us 5-10 minutes to scarf the food down right before the toasts or first dance. How is it in the couple’s best interest, for us to be eating when we should be taking photos??!!
We’ve worked with Trumpetvine Catering twice now. Each time the food has been so yummy and healthy. Trumpetvine Catering and Events was established to provide flavorful, seasonal foods and gracious service for special events at an affordable price. They work closely with their clients to meet the need for creativity and value. They believe in abundance and elegance while serving healthful, sophisticated cuisine. Check out their website
We’ve worked with Ann Walker on several events. They did a wonderful job setting up for “Family Style Dining” at one of our events together, their food is always very organic and yummy and their staff deligthful to work with. Family style dining is all the range, and they did a wonderfull job at it.
Videography
Here’s my two cents on videographers. Positioning during the ceremony is key, and often photographers and videographers are fighting over the same spots in order to get the angles and shots needed of the ceremony. Also, an experienced videographer is aware of their space, and how close they are with their subjects during events like the first dance, processional, etc. The following videographers work really well with our team.
Curtis and his team produce quality work. It’s fresh, emotional, and such a joy to watch. He’s also super fun to work with. Check out his website
